To keep up with the constant changes and meet the challenges of time, Dr. Haipeng Xie, an adjunct Professor of the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, established Dr X Academy of Robotics and Coding in 2015.

Founder of Dr X Academy
Dr. Haipeng Xie, founder of Dr X Academy, is also an adjunct Professor in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto. He is also the Chief Technology Officer at Dr Robot Inc., developing cutting-edge intelligent mobile robotic technologies. Over the past 27 years, Dr. Xie has joined the development of Canadian Space Robotic Arms, pioneered humanoid robot companion development, led unmanned mobile robot technology development, joined forces with the University of Toronto, Western University, and Canadian Surgical Technologies and Advanced Robotics Center (CSTAR) on medical and clinical intelligent robot development. Dr Xie is also the Chief Scientist for two Nasdaq listed education companies (Tarena International and Visionary Education Technology). As a father, Dr. Xie always enjoys mentoring and inspiring his two kids, on their various "making" projects, such as building RC models, 3D design and printing Minecraft figures, making Nintendo piano playing robots, Raspberry Pi Arcade Machine, and publishing iOS games since their early age. In 2015, Dr. Xie founded Dr X Academy, providing unique STEM learning platform for youths through professionally guided robotics and coding programs.
